India Flag Drawing

How to Draw the Indian Flag: A Step-by-Step Guide

Materials You'll Need:

- Paper - Pencil - Ruler or straight edge - Orange, white, and green colored pencils or markers

Instructions:

Step 1: Outline the Flag

- Use a ruler or straight edge to draw a rectangular frame on the paper. The flag should be approximately 3:2 in length to width.

Step 2: Divide the Flag into Three Bands

- Draw two horizontal lines inside the rectangle to divide it into three equal bands. The top band will be saffron, the middle band will be white, and the bottom band will be green.

Step 3: Color the Bands

- Color the top band in orange, the middle band in white, and the bottom band in green.

Step 4: Draw the Chakra

- In the center of the white band, draw a blue chakra (wheel). The chakra should be approximately 1/3 the width of the flag. - Divide the chakra into 24 equally sized spokes.

Step 5: Detail the Chakra

- Within each spoke, draw a small circle and an inner circle. These are the Dharma chakras, representing the 24 qualities of Ahimsa (nonviolence).

Tips:

- Use a ruler or straight edge to ensure the lines are straight and the bands are even. - Use a light pencil for the outline to avoid smudging. - Color within the lines to create a neat and vibrant flag. - Practice makes perfect! Don't be discouraged if your first attempt isn't quite right.
