Cincinnati Reds sign Nick Martinez to a minor league contract
Martinez will report to Triple-A Louisville
The Reds have added some depth to their starting rotation by signing right-hander Nick Martinez to a minor league contract. Martinez will report to Triple-A Louisville.
Martinez, 32, has pitched in the majors for the Rangers, Cubs, and Padres. He has a career record of 38-57 with a 4.65 ERA.
Martinez missed the 2022 season after undergoing thoracic outlet surgery. He is expected to be ready to pitch in the majors this season.
The Reds have been looking for starting pitching depth after trading away Tyler Mahle and Luis Castillo last season.
