Game 4 of NBA Finals Set for Friday
The Boston Celtics took a commanding 3-0 lead in the 2024 NBA Finals on Wednesday night, holding off a spirited comeback attempt from the Dallas Mavericks to win Game 3 106-98.
The Celtics, who are seeking their 18th championship, will have a chance to clinch the title on Friday in Game 4. The game is scheduled to tip off at 9 p.m. ET at TD Garden in Boston.
The Mavericks made a run in the fourth quarter, cutting the Celtics' lead to just three points with less than five minutes to play. However, the Celtics held on, thanks in part to clutch baskets from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Tatum led the Celtics with 30 points and 12 rebounds, while Brown added 27 points and 10 assists. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 30 points, but he also had 10 turnovers.
The Celtics are now one win away from their first NBA championship since 2008. The Mavericks, meanwhile, are facing a must-win situation in Game 4.
